Description:

Aggressively leverage HP’s spend in Ocean and negotiate services and prices and  facilitate development of transportation solutions that enable HP to deliver goods to its customers accurately, on time, at the most competitive cost.

Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.


Responsibilities:

1. Supporting execution of the Global Ocean RFQ (Request for Quotation), leading the negotiation for regional ocean business

2. Liaison with Regional Business & Logistics providing ocean expertise to support Regional projects & initiatives & regional Ocean related RFQs

3. Support supply chain & regional network strategies as it pertains to ocean

4. Focal point of contact for managing Ocean LSP region service issues & discussions

5. Tracking the capture of cost savings projected from the RFQ, along with any variances in the award allocation versus the actual utilization.  

6. Leads the analysis of a specific commodity data and industry trends or leads an individual supply chain sub- category; reports results to managers.

7. Participates as a senior member on a cross-functional team (may lead specific projects).

8. Meets with Stakeholder managers to understand business priorities and translate them into procurement plans; comprehends the industry and the Marketplace.

9. Utilizes supply chain and financial modeling tools.

10. Participates in Supplier Selection Activities.

11. May lead activities for less complex domains.

12. Assesses the supply base of category.

13. Negotiates and contracts with suppliers.

14. Engages with low-complexity suppliers.

15. Monitors supplier performance.

16. Executes risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management, and operation strategies.

17. Identifies common contract risk areas.

18. Negotiates acceptable contracting outcomes using pre- packed solutions.

19. Advises program level business representatives on fundamental contract risk areas.


Education and Experience Required:

1. First level university degree or equivalent experience; may have advanced university degree.

2. Typically 4-6 years of experience in procurement, logistics or supply chain function.


Knowledge and Skills:

1. Strong understanding of procurement processes. Familiar about ocean industry, and suppliers.

2. Strong analytical skills.

3. Strong business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint) and supply chain modeling skills.

4. Strong knowledge and use of procurement tools and applications.

5. Strong communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities.

6. Basic Project Management Skills.

7. Basic ability to develop suppliers

9. Mastery in English and local language.

10. Ability to create a contract using standard HP contract templates with supervision.
